StepSafe Kids: our Kickstarter video
2 min 8 s · Published 27 July 2026
Ashwin Chunchu, the founder of StepSafe Kids, explains why he built a cellular GPS tracker for children who wander after months of talking to their parents. The video shows how parents will see the tracker's location, set safe zones around places like home or school, and get an alert when the tracker leaves one. It also explains why the microphone is permanently disabled, so there is no listening in.
StepSafe is a location-awareness aid. It does not replace supervision. Devices ship in early 2027, and the prices mentioned in the video were Kickstarter backer prices.
