Where our pricing comparisons come from

Device cost

The device kit was offered free with a subscription plan when we last checked (July 20, 2026), shown as a promotion valued at $300+. Previously sold at $229 USD (Guardian Kit, verified July 18, 2026). Both captures below show subscription pricing only, so we have not re-verified the device offer; our comparisons assume it is still free, which is the assumption most favourable to AngelSense.

Subscription

US storefront: $44.99/month on the annual plan (paid yearly upfront), $49.99/month on the monthly plan with a one-year contract, or $64.99/month month-to-month.
Canadian storefront: CA$69.99, CA$79.99 and CA$99.99/month for the same three plans.
These are two regional price lists, not a price change. Neither screenshot below prints a currency code next to the dollar sign, so the currency for each is stated from the storefront we were viewing when we captured it.

First-year subscription total

US: approximately $540–$780 USD ($44.99 × 12 = $539.88 on the annual plan; $64.99 × 12 = $779.88 month-to-month).
Canada: approximately CA$840–CA$1,200 (CA$69.99 × 12 = CA$839.88; CA$99.99 × 12 = CA$1,199.88).
Every comparison on this site uses the US figures, because the StepSafe prices being compared (the $9.99/month subscription, $249 Lifetime Pro and $149 planned retail) are quoted in USD. Comparing those against the higher Canadian numbers would flatter us for no honest reason. Our Kickstarter reward tiers are a separate matter: Kickstarter runs the campaign in Canadian dollars, so those tiers are priced in CAD (for example Early Bird at CA$139) with the approximate USD figure shown alongside.
