Where our pricing comparisons come from
We believe in honest comparisons. Here’s exactly where our numbers come from, with dates. If any of these change, we update this page.
AngelSense pricing, verified July 20 and August 5, 2026
- Device cost
- On AngelSense’s Canadian checkout on September 21, 2026, the device kit was free on the annual and one-year contract plans and charged at CA$300 on month to month. Previously sold at $229 USD (Guardian Kit, verified July 18, 2026). We have not been able to load their US checkout, so US comparisons assume the device is free, which is the assumption most favourable to AngelSense.
- One-time fees at checkout
- Canada, read line by line from their checkout on September 21, 2026: an activation fee of CA$24 on the annual and one-year contract plans (listed as reduced from CA$78 during a sale), and on month to month a CA$78 activation fee plus CA$25 standard shipping. Order totals: CA$863.88 annual, CA$103.99 one-year contract, CA$502.99 month to month.
United States, from AngelSense’s own help page on service plans: a “$59 Activation Fee (USD)” on month to month and a “Reduced Activation Fee” on the other two, amount not published. Our tables show that as “+ fee” rather than guessing.
StepSafe charges no activation fee, and shipping to Canada and the United States is free. - Subscription
- US storefront: $44.99/month on the annual plan (paid yearly upfront), $49.99/month on the monthly plan with a one-year contract, or $64.99/month month-to-month.
Canadian storefront: CA$69.99, CA$79.99 and CA$99.99/month for the same three plans.
These are two regional price lists, not a price change. Neither screenshot below prints a currency code next to the dollar sign, so the currency for each is stated from the storefront we were viewing when we captured it. - First-year subscription total
- US: approximately $540–$780 USD ($44.99 × 12 = $539.88 on the annual plan; $64.99 × 12 = $779.88 month-to-month).
Canada: approximately CA$840–CA$1,200 (CA$69.99 × 12 = CA$839.88; CA$99.99 × 12 = CA$1,199.88).
Comparisons on this site use whichever figures match the StepSafe prices sitting beside them. The homepage and shop comparisons follow the currency you choose and switch to the matching AngelSense store. The AngelSense guide and our sponsorship page quote Canadian dollars throughout. Setting a CAD competitor price beside a USD price of ours, in either direction, would be a comparison that proves nothing. - Source

- US$229 for the insole, then a required monitoring plan: US$49 a month, US$138 a quarter, US$259 per six months, or US$429 a year. Sold in US dollars only, so our Canadian table shows it in US dollars rather than converting it. Shipping and any activation fee were not shown on the product page, so our totals exclude them. metalert.shop
- Apple AirTag
- US$29 or CA$39 for one, US$99 or CA$129 for four, from Apple’s US and Canadian stores. No monthly fee because it has no GPS and no cellular connection.
- Jiobit
- Life360’s own support page says the current Jiobit line is out of stock, so it is shown as not sold rather than priced.
