Water Safety Plan for Wandering Kids

Water is the biggest danger when a child wanders, and it's also the most preventable. This printable plan walks you through the full checklist: mapping every water hazard within 10 minutes of home, introducing yourself to neighbors with pools, finding adapted swim lessons for kids with autism (programs like Angelfish and SafeSplash), choosing pool alarms, and exactly what to tell first responders about your child and water. No other consumer product walks you through this.

What parents told us

On swim lessons, from parents who have been through it

Several parents have told us the same thing: group lessons often do not work at first, but one-on-one lessons do. One parent described her daughter sitting and staring through an entire group class, then progressing quickly with a private tutor. Some children then move into group lessons successfully once they are comfortable in the water. If group lessons have not worked for your child, private lessons first may be worth trying.
