Neighborhood Safety Letter
A fill-in letter for the neighbors who already know your child: their photo and name, a plain-language note about their diagnosis, and one clear thing to do, if you see them alone, call this number. It is information, not a request to keep watch. Most neighbors want to help; they just don't know your child yet, and knowing is usually enough.

You do not need to hand this to an entire street. Several parents have told us it works best with the neighbors who already know your child, the ones either side and across from you, rather than strangers. Telling fewer people you trust is often better than telling everyone.
This is information, not a watch request
One parent told us the letter can read as though neighbors are now on duty. That is not the intent. The letter exists so that someone who sees your child alone knows who they are and who to call. If any line in your copy feels like it is asking people to monitor your child, cross it out. The parts that matter are what your child looks like, what to do if they are alone, and your phone number.
