Referral rewards
A referral is a person who backs the campaign for a device through your link. Mailing-list signups do not count toward any of this.
For the people you refer
Every backer you refer gets First Batch Priority shipping and their family name on the Founding Families screen in the app.

If someone referred you
After the campaign closes we send every backer a short survey. One question asks whether someone referred you and for their referral code. Your answer is what earns them their reward, so if a friend told you about StepSafe, ask them for their code now and keep it somewhere you will find it in September. Codes are 7 characters and look like 0AQVUQC.

What counts as a referred backer
- Only pledges for a device count. The $1 tier and digital-only tiers never count.
- Only pledges that are collected at payout count.
- A pledge that is cancelled, refunded, or fails to collect is not a backer and does not count.
- One pledge carries one code.
- Referring yourself does not count.
Prizes are verified before they are awarded. We compare survey responses against referral link activity, and we may ask for a brief explanation where the two do not match.
About the donated devices
Devices donated through Sabella Fae's Ausome Adventures go to families who cannot afford one, and they choose the recipient. Donated devices ship on the same schedule as backer rewards, so they go out when production does, not before.
How prizes are verified
Prizes are verified after payout, against the pledge manager survey question "Did someone refer you? Enter their code", and settle after that. The public leaderboard is indicative until then.
If someone heard about us from you but reached the campaign another way, entering your code in that survey is what counts them. The link is the convenient path, not the only one.
